About the Role
Purdey, established in London in 1814, is world-renowned for crafting bespoke shotguns, rifles, and country clothing. This role involves all craftsmanship and machining processes for Purdey's firearms, assisting in technical development, and seeking continuous improvements in quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Perform all craftsmanship and machining processes for existing and future Purdey shotguns and rifles.
- Assist the Technical department with CAD/CAM development, providing feedback and advice.
- Identify and implement new processes, tooling, and methods to enhance quality and reliability.
- Support Craft Managers in organizing and developing workshop activities.
- Continuously improve quality, productivity, output, and teamwork.
- Explain the craft process to visitors and customers courteously.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following procedures, using safety equipment, and reporting concerns.
- Act as a member of the Purdey factory production team, upholding the brand's culture and standards.
- Contribute to achieving the highest quality standards for finished guns and rifles to reduce rework.
- Participate in continuous improvement to meet production schedules and deliver products on time.
- Assist in acquiring current and new tooling to optimize quality and cost while maintaining the brand's reputation.
- Support the implementation of processes and procedures to achieve company objectives.
- Assist with the cost-effective and timely maintenance of factory equipment and machinery.
- Develop and safeguard information to protect intellectual property and product excellence.
