About the Role

As a Fire Alarm Service Technician, you will be responsible for keeping customers’ life safety systems operational. You will inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance and reliability. This field-based role offers variety and autonomy, involving real-time problem-solving and direct customer interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot basic and complex fire alarm systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs in accordance with NFPA 72 and company standards.
  • Identify code deficiencies and provide clear, professional recommendations for system improvements.
  • Respond to emergency calls, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
  • Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams for timely service delivery.
  • Document service activities accurately, including findings, work performed, and parts used.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers, supervisors, and office staff.
  • Uphold Encore’s commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or industry-related experience preferred.
  • Valid electrical license, in accordance with state specific requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA regulations, and fire alarm system theory.
  • Hands-on experience working with fire alarm systems from major manufacturers (Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Fire Lite, Gamewell FCI, Honeywell).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple service assignments, and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Professional, team-oriented mindset and commitment to customer service excellence.
