About the Role

Support operations and preconstruction teams, and lead team members within the Risk Management department to uphold Swinerton Incorporated's core values and goals. Oversee the coordination and management of corporate insurance policies and programs.

Responsibilities

• Support division teams with Owner contract and Master Subcontract review, analysis, and guidance.
• Provide pricing for project-specific policies as needed.
• Support division teams for project participation in corporate insurance programs.
• Assist the Director with managing corporate bonding and insurance programs, including broker/carrier evaluation and selection, and policy negotiation.
• Assist the Director with reviewing OCIP program information and assist division teams with pricing and participation.
• Assist the Director in developing and leading trainings for operations and estimating teams on risk, insurance, bonds, and claims.
• Analyze and classify risks based on frequency and potential severity, measuring financial impact.
• Evaluate and select techniques to minimize losses (e.g., risk retention, risk transfer).
• Oversee insurance-related claims management and litigation management issues.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. Degree.
• Minimum 10 years of business experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction or insurance industry.
• Ability to read contracts and provide analysis, comments, and suggested language for terms and conditions related to insurance, bonding, indemnity, and related subjects.
• Strong understanding of property, casualty, and indemnity insurance policies.
• Ability to read, analyze, and act on or comment on insurance policy issues, communicating verbally and in writing.
• Ability to assist estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams with insurance requirements in RFPs, bids, and contracts, impacting pricing, coverage, and loss application.
• Ability to assist with collecting, analyzing, and submitting underwriting information to brokers and presenting coverage options, pricing, and terms.
• Strong understanding of how bonds work and ability to explain guarantees and trigger issues.
• Strong insurance claims management experience.
• Effective team and coaching leadership skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills.
• Effective organizational skills.
• Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Initiative to find solutions to potential problems.
• Research and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel.
