About the Role
Handle credit coverage for clients in the Diversified Industrials segment, preparing detailed credit analyses and applications. Assess risk factors, determine appropriate risk ratings, and support active credit management and new transaction underwriting. Monitor credits for potential upgrades, downgrades, or deterioration to maximize net income and minimize credit costs.
Responsibilities
- Perform due diligence on new transactions and evaluate the existing loan portfolio.
- Coordinate and communicate account information across various organizational constituencies.
- Maintain knowledge of assigned industries and current events using internal and external sources.
- Oversee covenants compliance database and facility closing due diligence, including documentation.
- Attend client meetings as appropriate.
- Participate in special projects.
- Support the development and analysis of financing structures/strategies within a deal team.
- Prescreen proposed transactions to identify critical structural issues and risks.
- Support credit analysis for structured credit transactions.
- Maintain knowledge of industries represented in the portfolio, including technical and regulatory aspects.
- Conduct site visits and participate in client and bank meetings.
- Support communication with the credit approval division regarding final hold level strategies.
- Evaluate and establish appropriate ratings for transactions and correlate exposure levels.
- Ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience in commercial banking, corporate banking, private credit, credit risk management or related financial services roles.
- Foundational understanding of corporate finance, accounting, financial statements, cash flow analysis, and credit risk fundamentals.
- Experience with three-statement financial modeling, valuation, and credit analysis.
- Ability to interpret business performance, industry trends, and transaction structures with guidance from senior team members.
- Completion of a formal credit training program is preferred.
