About the Role

An opportunity exists within T. Rowe Price's EMEA Distribution business unit for a General Manager to support the EMEA leadership team. This role is critical for providing leadership support in a growing market segment and offers significant scope for development. The EMEA General Manager will provide governance, coordination, planning, operational oversight, and help execute enterprise-led initiatives and EMEA-led strategies. This role acts as a trusted partner to the Head of EMEA Distribution, a central point of contact for specialist functions, and a liaison to other business unit leaders. The position manages and participates in intra- and cross-departmental initiatives, making decisions related to business management needs and prioritizing across Global Distribution and corporate stakeholders. The incumbent will interface directly with senior management and be responsible for one London-based business manager, including setting work plans, ensuring high-quality output, logistics planning, deadline management, prioritization, performance reviews, and career development.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the EMEA Distribution governance and operating rhythm, and support execution of the business strategy and sales plans and forecasts.
  • Partner with the Head of EMEA Distribution and EMEA Sales Lead Team on leadership meetings, including agenda setting, materials, facilitation, action tracking and follow-through.
  • Maintain an integrated view of business performance, strategic priorities, dependencies, risks and emerging issues; recommend solutions and process improvements.
  • Represent EMEA Distribution in AAE and enterprise initiatives, committees and project teams; act as proxy for the AAE General Manager or Head of EMEA Distribution when delegated.
  • Prepare and oversee high-quality presentations, updates and communications for senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply sound judgement to reconcile differing perspectives, facilitate productive debate and enable timely decisions.
  • Collaborate with Global Sales Management and sub-regional leaders to support sales management, productivity and effectiveness.
  • Oversee and prioritise the portfolio of EMEA Distribution change initiatives and business-unit programmes, balancing strategic impact, capacity and interdependencies.
  • Lead project scoping, feasibility assessment, governance and implementation; identify capability gaps, remove barriers, manage risks and hold owners accountable for delivery.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional project teams, representing the collective needs and perspectives of EMEA Distribution.
  • Deploy business-unit resources and subject-matter expertise effectively, considering both delivery requirements and development opportunities.
  • Serve as a key EMEA Distribution contact for enterprise initiatives and support sustainable transition into business-as-usual operations.
  • Act as the primary interface between EMEA Distribution and shared service partners, including Human Resources, Legal & Compliance, Finance, Business Continuity, Product and Technology.
  • Consolidate shared services activity into a coherent view of priorities, capacity, risks and decision requirements for EMEA Distribution leadership.
  • Partner with the EMEA Finance Business Partner to lead annual strategic and sales planning, budgeting, scenario planning and ongoing resource oversight.
  • Represent EMEA Distribution business requirements to shared service partners and align support with business priorities.
  • Serve as the escalation point for cross-business-unit service issues and drive resolution.
  • Lead and develop one London-based Business Manager, setting clear objectives, work plans, quality standards and development priorities.
  • Allocate and prioritise work, ensure deadlines are met and maintain consistently high-quality deliverables.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and support long-term career development.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in business or general management, strategy, operations or a comparable leadership role, ideally within asset management or financial services.
  • Strong strategic and commercial judgement, with the ability to translate complex information into concise recommendations, decisions and action plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions and geographies.
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional programmes, projects and change initiatives from definition through implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, with high emotional intelligence, diplomacy and organisational navigation.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, including setting direction, managing performance and developing talent.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands, operate independently and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Collaborative, resilient and solutions-focused, with high standards of integrity, attention to detail and critical thinking.
