About the Role

We are seeking an Underwriter for our Industry Practices Team, specializing in Liability for Life Science risks (Pharma, Medical Technology, Biotechnology, and Clinical Trials).

Responsibilities

• Independent underwriting of liability risks for German and multinational clients within the scope of individual underwriting authority in the industrial and corporate insurance sector.
• Independent acquisition and development of new business.
• Management of existing business, including tactical portfolio development with a focus on profitability.
• Gathering information and evaluating tender documents.
• Assessing coverage concepts and structures, including developing alternatives.
• Conducting contract negotiations with brokers and policyholders, including related travel.
• Developing legally binding offers.
• Participating in site inspections in cooperation with liability risk engineers.
• Presenting products and company information to brokers and policyholders, including product training.
• Risk rating, wording review, and negotiations.

Requirements

• Completed studies in business administration, economics, law, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in underwriting, preferably in liability insurance within the life science sector.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.
