About the Role

Group Leaders are dynamic youth workers committed to delivering high-quality, academically aligned arts, performance arts, sports, and/or STEM instruction to elementary, middle, or high school youth. This role focuses on positive youth development and social-emotional literacy, assisting Activity Specialists and/or Teaching Artists in program delivery, safety, and administrative procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage program participants to foster positive youth development.
  • Prepare materials and space for various age-appropriate activities.
  • Assist with planning, development, and implementation of activities and events.
  • Support effective classroom management and contribute to a positive environment.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and/or youth in a professional setting.
  • Strong ability to form and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, youth, families, and stakeholders.
  • Responsible, organized, and demonstrate positive communication skills.
  • Able to set an example in timeliness, attendance, and professionalism.
  • Ability to relate to officials, staff, and the public courteously.
  • Pre-employment screening, including criminal history checks, is required.
