About the Role

Heimatwurzeln is a not-for-profit organisation with a unique mission: we promote environmental and climate protection for people from the middle classes. To further develop our organisation, we are looking for an entrepreneurial individual to take charge of the Programme & Networking division.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic programme responsibility
  • Responsibility for the further development, prioritisation and coherence of Heimatwurzeln’s programme portfolio as part of the management team, working alongside the executive management and the board of directors
  • Annual and multi-annual planning for programme and network activities, including priorities, resources and impact targets
  • Assessment of political, social and funding strategy developments, and translating these into specific programme and network decisions
  • Development and management of the networking strategy, with a particular focus on policy-makers, foundations, associations, sponsors and key strategic stakeholders
  • Establishing, maintaining and strengthening sustainable alliances for conservative climate action
  • Identifying, prioritising and securing sponsors, as well as taking a leading role in grant applications, proposals and funding strategies
  • Providing specialist oversight of programme and network activities, and working closely with Research, Communications, the Chief of Staff and senior management
  • Quality assurance of strategic conclusions, project approaches and partnerships
  • Representing one’s roots at key meetings, conferences, events and strategic partner meetings
  • Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of approximately 8 colleagues across Public Affairs & Politics, Partnerships & Cooperation, Research & Impact, Media & Communications, and Capacity Building, fostering collaboration, high performance, and strategic alignment across the organisation.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years’ relevant professional experience in relevant fields (associations, public affairs, project management, administration/politics, consultancy, etc.) with proven experience in dealing with high-level decision-makers
  • Experience in organisational development and network building, including the coordination of a wide range of partners and stakeholders
  • A very good understanding of the political landscape in Germany, particularly of centre-right and conservative circles
  • Excellent communication skills and a confident manner: able to engage convincingly and engagingly on an equal footing in political, civil society and institutional contexts
  • Analytical and forward-thinking skills, a very good general knowledge and the ability to deal professionally with different perspectives – you identify opportunities, risks and dynamics at an early stage
  • A high degree of personal responsibility, as well as a proactive, forward-thinking and committed approach to work, underpinned by a ‘builder mindset’
