About the Role

Coordinates patient care with physicians, assists with assessments, administers medications, and supports administrative duties to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and escorts them to exam rooms.
  • Prepares patients for examination or treatment.
  • Takes vital signs.
  • Assists physicians as requested.
  • Performs Spirometry and other breathing tests.
  • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  • Provides patient education when appropriate.
  • Completes documentation in patients' medical records.
  • Calls in prescriptions as ordered by a physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Performs allergy prick testing and/or intradermal testing.
  • Administers allergy injections according to physician-approved schedules.
  • Monitors patients for adverse reactions after allergy injections.
  • Maintains emergency equipment.
  • Answers patient-related telephone calls and responds according to clinical protocol.
  • Follows up to obtain referrals and insurance authorization.
  • Maintains clinical supply stock and medication samples.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and practice compliance guidelines.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other relevant computer software.
  • Attends required training programs (CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG).
  • Attends all regular meetings.
  • Performs other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager.
  • Completes all assigned AP training within designated timeframes.
  • Complies with Allergy Partners policies and reports policy violations.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in clinical assisting.
  • Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications.
  • Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Neat, professional appearance.
