Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technology strategy with the CTO and establish governance frameworks for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Set architectural guardrails for AI-native development, ensuring AI-generated code is reviewed against architectural principles.
- Own technology lifecycle management, including introducing new capabilities and modernizing/retiring existing systems.
- Define the role of architecture within the FIRE team delivery model and establish it as an operational part of product development.
- Build the Architecture Guild as an active community of practice, develop leaders, and coach architects and senior engineers.
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a Senior Architect or Head of Architecture in a complex, enterprise-wide technology environment with demonstrable hands-on delivery.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and domain-driven design in large-scale engineering contexts.
- Practical experience with microservices, cloud-native, and event-driven architectures, ideally across greenfield and modernization projects.
- Familiarity with AI-native development models and the architectural implications of AI-generated code and autonomous agents.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, credible from engineering teams up to executive board level.
- Experience in healthcare IT or another regulated industry is ideal.
