About the Role
As a Senior Business Development Manager - The Americas, you will own the commercial growth of the M&I brand across our M&I sales portfolio, winning and renewing supplier participation, driving new bookings, and maximizing rebookings and account value. You will join a growing team of experienced, passionate people who bring creativity, precision, and purpose to everything they do. This is a permanent full-time opportunity reporting to the Global Director of Sales.
Responsibilities
- Own a personal sales quota within the M&I supplier sales portfolio, delivering against annual revenue targets across new business, renewals, and upsell.
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified supplier prospects, sourcing opportunities through market research, referrals, and industry events.
- Manage the full renewal cycle, from early identification of expiring contracts through negotiation and rebooking, maximizing retention across your portfolio.
- Identify opportunities for sponsorship, premium placements, and multi-property or multi-event commitments to increase account value.
- Maintain an accurate, current pipeline in Salesforce, recording customer interactions, deal stages, next steps, and forecasts.
- Provide coaching and deal-shaping support to Business Development Executives, Business Development Managers, and Account Managers, sharing best practice and market intelligence.
- Occasionally work outside standard hours to support events or meet key deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven ability to prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close supplier deals.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding targets in a B2B events, hospitality, or conference environment.
- Ability to build trust with senior supplier contacts, including hotel-group leaders, venue owners, and destination marketers.
- Ability to sustain productive long-term relationships.
- Sound judgment on pricing, value, and deal risk, working within policy and knowing when a strategic exception or senior escalation is required.
- Systematic approach to renewals: early identification, account preparation, tailored proposals, negotiation, and timely close.
- Consistent, accurate use of Salesforce, maintaining reliable interaction history, deal stages, next steps, and forecasts.
- Strong understanding of the hosted-buyer event landscape, competitor activity, supplier priorities, and relevant hospitality or MICE market developments.
