About the Role

As an Assistant Manager at Aera, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of a premier dining destination. You will collaborate with FOH and BOH teams to build high-performing teams, uphold standards, and create memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, including staffing, service execution, security, and venue management.
  • Communicate the restaurant’s vision and lead by example in all aspects of hospitality.
  • Foster and maintain a best-in-class beverage program and possess a strong understanding of all food and beverage offerings.
  • Assist with inventory management, including beverages and supplies, while supporting profitability and cost controls.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to curate exciting activations, events, and guest experiences.
  • Embody the O&B Values every day and inspire the team with a positive vision for the future.
  • Consistently uphold and execute O&B’s standards of technical service and attention to detail.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, team members, and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrate high personal integrity and sound business ethics while acting as an ambassador for the restaurant and the O&B brand.
  • Apply strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills while coaching and empowering others.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, Toronto’s dining scene, and evolving guest preferences.
  • Support the training, development, and performance of team members, helping to cultivate a culture of accountability, growth, and excellence.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead with professionalism, energy, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of leadership experience in a high-volume hospitality environment, with previous management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing large parties and delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced setting.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with increased availability during peak periods and the summer season.
  • Experience leading a high-volume bar or lounge environment is considered an asset.
  • Strong wine, cocktail, and beverage knowledge.
  • Results-driven, with the ability to set goals, drive performance, and motivate your team.
  • A collaborative leader who understands that great teams achieve more together.
  • Exceptionally organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to think quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Passionate about hospitality, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with guests, team members, and stakeholders alike.
