About the Role

Ensures the Mozzarella Packaging department is operating properly. Lactalis USA is hiring a Supervisor in Mozzarella Packaging based in Buffalo, New York.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and their effect on department performance.
• Ensures smooth and efficient department operations and completes supervisor rounds.
• Works with all departments to ensure adherence to GMP, GSP, and QC policies and procedures, and proper equipment maintenance.
• Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures for problem-solving.
• Participates in the operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department.
• Monitors employee punches and ensures sufficient personnel, including temporary staff.
• Completes all required records and charting.
• Meets regularly with shift and sanitation supervisors to stay informed about department issues.
• Conducts monthly or bi-monthly department employee meetings.
• Performs administrative managerial duties accurately, timely, and professionally.
• Responsible for hiring and scheduling within the department, including temporary staff.
• Actively works on the production floor to facilitate data exchange between departments.
• Maintains open communication with all employees, including department managers.
• Implements special projects and procedures as directed.

Requirements

• Ability to perform a multitude of tasks.
• Strong communication abilities, written and verbal.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associates Degree in Business Administration or dairy science preferred.
• Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
• 3-5 years of Supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.
