About the Role
The Prepared Foods Team Member I assists leaders in the Prepared Foods Department to create a great customer experience through food production, stocking, customer service, and store maintenance, ensuring a clean, growing, and well-maintained department with exceptional quality. This role involves assisting in production, pack-out, and providing an irresistible store experience for customers.
Responsibilities
- Follow food recipes as written
- Ensure prepared foods meet recipe standards of quality, consistency, look and taste
- Pack-out, label and stock product to standard
- Ensure all food stations are clean, stocked, full fresh and delicious at all times
- Participate in periodic department inventories
- Package, weigh, and price product
Requirements
- Familiarity with natural foods, vegan and vegetarian cuisine as well as organic vs commercial growing practices
- Available to work weekends, holidays, mornings and nights
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Projects an outgoing, friendly personality
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions
- Ability to stand for long lengths of time, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach and climb stairs or ladders throughout the work day
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with customers and co-workers
Skills
- Ability to read and follow a recipe
- Ability to Operate kitchen equipment (i.e. mixers, commercial ovens, dishwasher)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent problem solving and multitasking skills
Experience Level
- Min. 1 year kitchen experience preferred
