About the Role

Alto is actively involved in transforming Canada's future through its high-speed train project connecting Quebec City to Toronto. This innovative initiative aims to improve citizens' quality of life, strengthen community ties, and stimulate economic growth. We are seeking a Senior Advisor, Media Relations and Spokesperson to take on a challenging and impactful role.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively and regularly maintain contact with media representatives to build and sustain long-term trust.
  • Coordinate media interview requests in Quebec and Ontario, acting as a liaison between journalists and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a spokesperson when necessary, including granting interviews and representing the company to external media and audiences.
  • Collaborate with members of other internal teams to meet their communication needs (e.g., real estate, engineering, Indigenous relations, commercial projects).
  • Advise and support organizational leaders in their communication activities.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies for various teams within the organization.
  • Produce multi-platform content (e.g., presentations, blog posts, internal memos, videos, fact sheets, briefing notes, intranet content).
  • Collaborate on drafting and revising various communication products.
  • Participate in the organization of events and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate communication, including media relations and the design of various communication materials.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (memos, texts, PowerPoint presentations, videos, etc.).
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate clearly.
  • Bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working on a linear infrastructure development project or a large-scale commercial or industrial development project (an asset).
  • Understanding of the specific realities of Indigenous communities in Canada (an asset).
  • Knowledge of public transit and rail transport sectors and their specific issues (an asset).
  • Knowledge of issues related to regulatory processes and social acceptability (an asset).
  • Proficiency in technological and office tools (especially the Microsoft suite).
  • Understanding of the Ontario media ecosystem.
