About the Role
Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a Technical Assistant to join our growing team in Garden City, NY. The Technical Assistant reviews insurance applications to evaluate, classify, and rate individuals and groups for insurance, and accept or reject new and renewal applications for Property and Casualty types of coverage. They will also service and maintain accounts before, during, and after binding.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Account Executive when underwriting or brokering risks, ensuring all required information is obtained, proper applications are completed, quotes & binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings are made, and taxes are paid.
- Assists Account Executives in reviewing, analyzing, and underwriting risk submitted by producers, rating submissions for premium and terms, analyzing exposures for quotes for new and renewal business, and issuing written indications, quotes, and binders.
- Confirms that the coding of specific required forms is completed and utilized.
- Ensures templates are updated for processing policies/coverage.
- Communicates with producers, Company representatives, inspection companies, and finance companies to ensure expeditious handling of all submissions.
- Reviews and processes renewal letters.
- Orders and follows up for inspections.
- Requests Loss Runs for years written with the office.
- Follows up for suspense items on applications, subject to inspections, etc.
- Processes all brokerage and contract endorsements.
- Handles correspondence with company/producers with Account Executive supervisor as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum education high school or GED
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position minimum
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Exceptional telephone demeanor
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
