About the Role
The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing maintenance and repair, routine and on-demand services on non-technical facility components like walls, floors, office furniture, and interior doors. The role also ensures work is performed in accordance with established processes and complies with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection requirements.
Responsibilities
- Performs work in accordance with established processes and practices at client facility.
- Complies with all internal and external requirements including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.
- Performs regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection.
- Provides observations about facility and facility non-technical component conditions and deficiencies, and suggests enhancements and repairs.
- Monitors assigned facility by conducting walkthroughs and component monitoring and inspection.
- Responds to routine and on-demand service requests.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repair work to non-technical components.
- Ensures completed work meets quality, contract response, and all other requirements.
- Assists client in implementing the preventative maintenance (PM) program, identifying, recording, and escalating deficiencies, and maintaining documentation.
- Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.
- Ensures work performed complies with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection, and other applicable requirements.
- Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement.
- Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs.
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment.
- Minimum 3 years facility operations and maintenance work experience.
- Ability to adhere to and properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair non-technical facility components.
- Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair.
- Ability to research, learn, and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job fire, life, safety, and building codes and standards.
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset and ability to perform work safely.
- Strong client-service orientation with a high sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
- Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements.
