About the Role
MGC Contractors, Inc. is seeking Operators to join our Texas Division in the Austin area. We specialize in water and wastewater general contracting.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand wheels, levers, and pedals to drive machines and control attachments like blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms.
- Grade or redistribute earth, aggregates, or materials for construction.
- Operate GPS and laser leveling machines for rough grading, regulating elevation and slope angles.
- Fasten attachments or accessories to equipment and align depth gauge markers with reference stakes and guidelines.
- Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure proper machine operation.
- Inspect equipment for deficiencies (tires, lights, brakes, fuses, fluid levels) and submit condition reports.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, survey markers, and stakes.
- Signal directions and warnings to coworkers.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience operating dozer, loader, backhoe, gannon, scraper, or compactor is required.
- Five (5) plus years of related experience preferred.
- Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.
