About the Role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join their Data Centre team in Berlin. The role involves managing major projects and clients, from initial budgeting and cost planning through to post-contract reporting and final account negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Establishing early budgets, early estimating, and cost planning
• Managing a design team to the budget
• Tendering and procurement, including managing the pre-qualification stage
• Dealing effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change control processes
• Taking responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects
• Ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation
• Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
• Inputting into value engineering
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
• Leading a cost management team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities

Requirements

• A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
• Experience of leading cost management commissions for large construction projects of high complexity
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and be a team player
• Working knowledge of MS Office software and tools
• Availability for on-site work
