About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to take ownership of our analytics engineering capability and help shape the future of our data platform. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys turning complex data into trusted, business-ready assets. You'll work across teams and regions, partnering with stakeholders to design robust data models, deliver self-service analytics, and establish best practices that enable the business to confidently use data every day.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain scalable data models that transform raw and staged data into trusted, analytics-ready datasets.
Create clean, reliable and well-documented data assets that become the foundation for reporting, analytics and decision-making.
Work closely with teams across Product, Customer, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Leadership to understand business challenges and translate them into meaningful data solutions.
Challenge assumptions, shape requirements, and ensure business logic is applied consistently across the organisation.
Build and support semantic layers, dashboards and reporting solutions that empower teams to answer their own questions.
Help establish trusted metrics, improve data literacy, and create a culture where people can confidently use data to make decisions.
Define analytics engineering standards and best practices across modelling, testing, documentation and governance.
Mentor colleagues, review work, and help grow analytics engineering capability across Eftsure.
Stay current with emerging tools, technologies and industry practices, bringing new ideas and approaches into our platform.
Evaluate opportunities, prototype solutions and contribute to the evolution of our data roadmap.

Requirements

5+ years' experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Engineering or a similar role
Strong hands-on experience with dbt in production environments
Advanced SQL skills, including complex transformations, optimisation and data modelling
Deep understanding of dimensional modelling, medallion architectures and semantic layer design
Experience working with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or ClickHouse
Experience building business-facing analytics and reporting solutions using tools such as Metabase, Power BI or similar BI platforms
Working proficiency in Python for data-related development
Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices
Comfortable working in UNIX/Linux environments
Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality
Experience with AWS or other cloud-native data services
Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
