About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer – Hydraulics and Ventilation to join our Temporary Services team on the Sydney Metro West Linewide Project. You will support the planning, coordination, and installation of key mechanical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design review, and delivery of mechanical works across tunnelling scope.
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for constructability and compliance.
- Assist in the coordination of subcontractors and construction teams to ensure efficient execution of mechanical works.
- Monitor installation progress, quality, and compliance with project specifications and Australian Standards.
- Coordinate interfaces with other delivery teams.
- Identify risks, technical issues, and interface challenges, and implement solutions in coordination with senior engineers and construction leadership.
- Support commissioning, testing, and operation of mechanical systems.
- Prepare progress reports, documentation, and technical records for mechanical works.
- Participate in safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and ensure compliance with WHS requirements.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience delivering mechanical works on major infrastructure or tunnelling projects.
- Appreciation of hydraulics, ventilation, sump pumps, mechanical plant, and tunnel service systems.
- Previous involvement in coordinating construction teams and subcontractors.
- Ability to read, interpret, and review mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Problem-solving skills with focus on safety, quality, and schedule.
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with (or ability to learn) project management systems such as ACONEX, Primavera, or similar highly regarded.
