About the Role
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain an end-to-end understanding of how a major music company operates, from financial decision-making to artist payments. You will contribute meaningfully within the Royalties & Finance department, supporting key operations and long-term projects.
Responsibilities
- Support key day-to-day operations and long-term projects for Finance and Royalties teams.
- Liaise with departments such as Marketing, Legal, Sales, and Global Finance.
- Gain exposure to artist contract administration, budgeting processes, third-party reporting, and performance analysis.
- Support the consolidation and timely submission of group financial results.
- Collaborate on month-end reporting, budget tracking, and forecasting activities.
- Prepare Group Reporting Packs for the CFO detailing financial performance.
- Prepare reports and analysis for business partners and executive stakeholders.
- Reconcile financial data and identify anomalies in balance sheets.
- Manage purchase orders and ensure timely supplier payments.
- Raise invoices and respond to finance-related queries.
- Manage the Royalty Query Log and act as a point of contact for standard queries.
- Assist in setting up new artist, producer, and licensee contracts in the royalty system.
- Support the collection and validation of banking and identity information for artist payments.
- Track and invoice third-party royalties, monitor sales data, and process royalty VAT invoices.
- Prepare monthly royalty statements and assist with month-end balance sheet processes.
- Generate and circulate reports such as the CARMA report.
- Prepare and submit accurate month-end label results, including posting journals.
- Create and update daily streaming reports for senior executives.
- Assist cost center owners with the purchase order system and train new starters.
- Maintain and distribute weekly sales trackers for active/major artists.
- Conduct regular meetings with Marketing and A&R executives to ensure forecasts are accurate.
- Support the team in running key financial reports and analysis using various systems.
Requirements
- Highly numerate and detail-oriented.
- Strong interest in finance, accounting, and royalties.
- Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and financial systems.
- Keen to understand how different departments work together.
- Curious, analytical, and passionate about understanding how a global music company works.
- Ready to work with multiple teams, ask the right questions, and take ownership of your learning journey.
