About the Role
This role supports the day-to-day delivery of BDO's AML/CTF program, focusing on personnel due diligence, customer due diligence, and financial crime compliance to strengthen the firm's risk and compliance framework.
Responsibilities
- Conduct AML/CTF personnel due diligence, ongoing monitoring, and periodic rescreening.
- Review screening outcomes, identify risks, and escalate matters.
- Coordinate personnel screening schedules and follow up on outstanding requirements.
- Partner with stakeholders to support compliance with AML/CTF personnel due diligence obligations.
- Assist with regulatory enquiries and information requests related to AML/CTF.
- Support customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), risk assessments, and escalation processes.
- Assist in developing and improving AML/CTF policies, procedures, controls, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Support AML/CTF training and awareness initiatives.
- Contribute to the operation and optimization of the First AML platform.
- Support the Senior AML Consultant in coordinating workflow, training, and quality assurance for the offshore AML Administration team.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented and proactive professional with experience in a risk and compliance environment.
- Previous experience in AML/CTF, compliance, risk management, client onboarding, or a similar regulatory environment.
- Understanding of AML/CTF obligations, customer due diligence, beneficial ownership, sanctions screening, PEPs, and financial crime risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to process enhancements.
