About the Role

Benesch is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant for its San Francisco office. This hybrid role offers work-from-home flexibility and supports attorneys with their litigation practice, team, and overall practice. It's an opportunity to grow litigation legal support experience within a fast-growing law firm environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, redline, and proofread various legal documents including pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, motions, and briefs.
  • Generate tables of authorities and tables of contents.
  • Manage cases, correspondence, and communication with courts, clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Assist with the assembly, production, and tracking of discovery requests and responses, depositions, exhibits, trial binders, and trial preparation.
  • Create and maintain client and administrative files within the firm's procedures and document management system.
  • Schedule appointments, manage attorney calendars, and coordinate meetings, including video conferences and conference room requests.
  • Enter and release attorney's billable time and review proformas for billings.
  • Perform initial conflict checks, open/close client matters, and prepare engagement letters.
  • Monitor case deadlines and coordinate with the Docket Department to ensure timely submission.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and track travel expenses for reimbursement.
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external clients to provide high-level customer service.
  • Proactively participate as a member of the practice group support coverage team.
  • Stay current in the use of all firm systems and practices.
  • Perform additional office support duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all documents and information.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of litigation experience.
  • Experience with federal and state filings.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proficiency in TOC, TOA, Styles, and PDF software.
  • Excellent customer service attitude.
  • Must be able to work overtime or weekend hours as needed.
