About the Role
Lead highway and roadway design projects for VDOT and municipal clients in Virginia. Spearhead and nurture a team of skilled engineers on multi-modal transportation planning and design projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-modal transportation planning and design projects.
- Review and certify engineering plans, models, and documents.
- Analyze and develop interchange alternative studies.
- Mentor junior engineering and technician staff on transportation design tasks.
- Produce and oversee construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Prepare for and facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations, and plan approvals.
- Direct project staff and sub-consultants.
- Serve as liaison between clients and firm.
- Coordinate and develop relationships with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project staff.
- Support proposal and business development efforts.
Requirements
- Minimum of Ten (10) years of experience in civil engineering design and/or transportation/highway engineering.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Experience using OpenRoads Designer / Microstation / InRoads.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Products.
- Strong understanding of Federal, State and local design criteria.
