About the Role

This internship offers the opportunity to learn about performing rights and support the Creative team in NYC. Interns will assist with A&R research, help songwriters and publishers with account inquiries, and contribute to the creation and execution of workshops, panels, and showcases. The role also involves staying current with music industry trends and music listening.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various research, including Spotify, Billboard, Tik Tok, SHAZAM charts, music blogs, and new writer identification.
  • Support the creation, planning, and implementation of workshops, panels, showcases, and other Creative events.
  • Assist with #1 parties.
  • Support digital marketing research across social platforms.
  • Address inquiries from BMI songwriters and publishers regarding their accounts.
  • Organize product storage for events.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support BMI Core Values and cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student.
  • Must return to school in the Fall of 2026.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Ability to work independently, follow up on tasks, and be productive.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
