About the Role
The legal intern will become familiar with the daily workflow of in-house counsel, assisting attorneys in analyzing case files, completing research and writing assignments, and reviewing recent case law on topics central to BMI's work. The ideal candidate will be a first-year law student with an interest in entertainment, music, or copyright law; second-year law students will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Research and drafting briefs and supporting documentation for copyright enforcement matters.
- Research into trust and estate law and communication with potential heirs for estate matters.
- Evaluation of copyright, trademark and other intellectual property issues.
- Assist BMI staff attorneys on various other issues affecting the Company.
- Regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Applicants must be in pursuit of a JD degree at an accredited institution and able to provide documentation to confirm degree progress.
- Must have completed at least one year of JD program.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Must return to school in the Fall of 2026.
