About the Role
The Code and Zoning Analyst will apply expertise in NYC Building Code and Zoning Consulting to DOB filings and procedures, working both collaboratively and in leadership capacities.
Responsibilities
- Create, communicate, and execute filing/approval strategies with clients and co-workers.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with design professionals and Department of Buildings personnel.
- Track and coordinate multiple active filing projects.
- Review and organize documentation such as Alteration Type 1 and New Building applications for compliance with NYC Building Code, Multiple Dwelling Law & Zoning Resolution.
- Perform in-house code reviews, zone studies, and troubleshoot projects through resolution.
Requirements
- 4+ years in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or Expediting.
- 4+ years of managerial experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility and accountability.
- Experience as an expeditor at the Department of Buildings is essential.
- Experience with the Department of Buildings filing system and procedures.
- Experience must include supervision of technical staff, perform plan review or develop construction plans for code compliance.
- Must have knowledge in NYC Building Code and Zoning Analysis.
- Knowledgeable with related city agencies that require filings parallel with the DOB; i.e. Landmarks, DOF, DOT, and HPD.
- Successful candidates must be self-motivated, punctual, able to work well in an entrepreneurial environment and be a team player.
