About the Role
An established NYC expediting company seeks a licensed Architect to consult on residential and commercial ground-up construction projects. This role involves navigating NYC zoning, DOB regulations, and the project lifecycle from concept to approval, requiring strong technical knowledge and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural consulting services for residential and commercial ground-up developments.
- Review and prepare architectural drawings and construction documents.
- Coordinate with ownership, consultants, engineers, and contractors throughout project development.
- Assist with NYC DOB filings, plan examination responses, objections, and approvals.
- Interpret and apply NYC Building Code, Zoning Resolution, Energy Code, and related regulations.
- Support permitting strategies and construction compliance efforts.
- Conduct code and zoning analyses for proposed developments.
- Attend meetings with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the expediting team to streamline filing and approval processes.
- Review project feasibility, constructability, and compliance issues.
Requirements
- Active New York State Architect License required.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with NYC residential and commercial ground-up projects.
- Strong knowledge of NYC DOB procedures, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Experience coordinating with expediters and filing representatives preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and related architectural software.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and documentation standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
