Yonkers Contracting Company has an opportunity for a Site Safety Coordinator to join our team. Safety is a Shared Responsibility.

Effectively implement site-specific safety program
Monitor employees & subcontractors’ adherence to the site-specific safety & health plan
Conduct site-safety orientation for all employees assigned to the site
Conduct and/or coordinate worker training, maintain training records
Hazard anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control through the development of JHA’s
Ensure proper use of personal safety protective equipment
Conduct daily safety inspection and weekly Safety Toolbox Talks
Investigate and report all accidents
Maintain all safety related documentation
Perform audits: inspect project site(s), MPT set-up, and site equipment, ensure compliance documentation
Provide technical guidance and coaching
Support project specific safety efforts and promote Yonkers Contracting Safety First culture

Site Safety Experience with owners such as; CTDOT, NYS DOT, MTA, FHWA
Site Safety Coordinator Certification
OSHA 30
40 Hour Hazwopper certification
3-5 years of construction safety experience
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Thorough knowledge of state/government safety regulations
Experience with MPT Set-up in accordance with MUTCD and Work Zone Safety
Computer Skills are essential – Word and Excel
Must have valid driver’s license (will require authorization for a motor vehicle report)
Ability to take direction, prioritize, execute, and problem solve in a high-pressure environment; must be highly organized and work effectively within given time constraints
Demonstrate effective communication skills, capable of supporting multiple projects, interpersonal skills. Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity, and responsibility
Self-motivated; team oriented with collaborative work style
Willing to work nights and weekends when required
