About the Role

Join a mechanical service team supporting large commercial and industrial facilities. Our client is a well-established contractor known for complex central plant work, offering a lean, well-paying, and year-round busy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain centrifugal, screw, and absorption chillers across commercial and industrial sites.
  • Service and troubleshoot supporting plant equipment including motors, pumps, valves, controls, and cooling towers.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, eddy current testing coordination, and seasonal start-ups and shutdowns.
  • Respond to emergency service calls during rotating on-call shifts and resolve issues on first visit when possible.
  • Document service work, refrigerant usage, and equipment condition through the company's work order system.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing equipment 10 tons and larger.
  • Journeyman certification required.
  • EPA Universal certification required.
  • Background in central plant operations or large-scale HVAC systems.
  • Prior union affiliation strongly preferred.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability across building systems.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation including nights and weekends.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for customer-facing service work.
  • Employment Eligibility if hired, a Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification must be completed at the start of employment.
  • Temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify you from employment.
