About the Role
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 7+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for various commercial building projects. This role involves leading design from concept to construction administration, mentoring junior staff, and managing multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Design power distribution, lighting/controls, fire alarm, emergency/standby power, UPS, and low-voltage systems.
- Prepare construction documents including plans, specifications, single-lines, panel schedules, and equipment layouts.
- Perform load calculations, voltage drop, fault current, and equipment sizing.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection teams.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders; conduct site visits and construction observation.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, CEC, and local codes.
- Mentor junior engineers, manage budgets and schedules, and support client meetings and proposals.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of commercial electrical design experience.
- PE license preferred; EIT with a path to PE considered.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, emergency/standby power, fire alarm, low-voltage systems, and coordination studies.
- Thorough knowledge of NEC, NFPA, CEC, Title 24, and local codes.
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
