About the Role

This role combines day-to-day administrative support with hands-on data work, focusing on sourcing, formatting, checking, and presenting information accurately, securely, and accessibly. It offers the chance to develop practical data literacy skills while supporting office operations and systems, serving as a foundation for future data or analyst roles.

Responsibilities

  • Source, collate, and format data from a range of internal and external systems in line with organisational standards.
  • Check data for quality issues such as duplicates, errors, or inconsistencies, and take corrective action.
  • Store, manage, and share data securely and in compliance with GDPR, the Data Protection Act, and internal policies.
  • Apply basic anonymisation techniques where required for privacy or compliance.
  • Use spreadsheets and simple dashboarding tools to organise and visualise data (e.g. tables, charts, pivot tables).
  • Carry out basic statistical calculations (e.g. averages, percentages, totals) to summarise information.
  • Produce clear documentation of data sources, actions taken, and findings, using standard templates.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the team, including some diary management, correspondence, and filing, primarily working in the international secretariat department.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases, ensuring information is up to date and easily retrievable.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Support meetings with scheduling, minute-taking, and follow-up actions.
  • Handle routine enquiries by telephone, email, and in person, directing them appropriately.

Requirements

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above).
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
  • May consider a combination of qualifications and experience demonstrating minimum foundation needed for the programme.
  • If holding international equivalents, must provide official documentation comparing qualifications to UK standards at the time of application.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel/Word) or equivalent tools.
  • Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Basic familiarity with spreadsheets, databases, or reporting tools.
  • Analytical mindset and interest in problem-solving.
