About the Role

This professional position involves evaluating, planning, and providing physical therapy treatment to patients under the direction of a physician. The Physical Therapist is responsible for overseeing aides and assistants and collaborating with other personnel on patient care plans.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient function and disability levels.
• Performs physical therapy procedures as ordered by a physician.
• Supervises aides in performing physical therapy tasks.
• Participates in formulating patient care plans.
• Assists in developing physical therapy policies and procedures.
• Confers with superiors and physicians on patient care.
• Assists in and participates in facility in-service education programs.
• Records patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Maintains program records, including budget and statistical reports.
• Performs evaluations and treatments for home-bound patients, including paperwork.

Requirements

• Must possess a limited permit to practice Physical Therapy and have applied for or taken the licensing examination, OR possess a license and current registration as a Physical Therapist.
• Graduates may practice under supervision for up to 90 days after graduation if they have applied for the licensing examination and limited permit.
