About the Role

This position involves performing direct clinical audiological activities including screenings, evaluations, treatment, and consultation. The role focuses on implementing and interpreting tests, recommending interventions, and providing habilitation/rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts audiological evaluations to determine the most beneficial habilitation/rehabilitation methods.
  • Administers and interprets standard audiological diagnostic tests.
  • Interviews patients and families to gather data for diagnosis and management.
  • Counsels patients and families on habilitation/rehabilitation and medical intervention.
  • Provides habilitation/rehabilitation services, including assistive listening devices and hearing aids, and monitors progress.
  • Consults with other healthcare professionals to develop intervention strategies.
  • Organizes and conducts hearing screening programs.
  • Performs electroacoustic measurements of hearing aids and noise level measurements.
  • Prepares written documentation, including evaluation results and treatment plans.
  • Maintains department policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
  • Participates in educational programs and meetings.

Requirements

  • Possession of a New York State Department of Education license and current registration as an Audiologist.

Salary/Compensations
