About the Role
Join SAE’s dynamic and creative team, where your expertise will shape the future of IT and Creative Computing education. As a Lecturer in our Computer Science and IT courses, you will inspire students to excel academically, enriching their learning experience, and preparing them for thriving careers in IT and Computer Science fields. This role offers a contract for one trimester, with opportunities for extension.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, subject-relevant lectures and practical workshops.
- Provide personalised academic support, mentoring and guiding students through their projects.
- Contribute to the design and development of accredited higher education curriculum.
- Actively promote SAE’s student and staff achievements within the professional community.
- Contribute to academic research and industry engagement.
Requirements
- A postgraduate qualification, preferably at Masters level (or higher) in a relevant discipline.
- A high level of professional industry practice or academic experience.
- Teaching or training experience either in a higher education or professional environment.
- Experience in Computer Science and IT fields.
- Ability to convey foundational Computer Science and IT concepts effectively.
- Strong knowledge of software development life cycles, particularly Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA.
- Demonstrated practical experience in software development or systems analysis.
- High level of critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills.
- Adaptability and confidence in teaching new units, subjects, and emerging technologies.
