About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned SAP PE Consultant to lead the Production Execution workstream and take ownership of large-scale transformation projects. This role supports a life sciences transformation program with a strong focus on production process alignment, shop floor integration, and operational readiness, bridging business and IT teams with deep expertise in SAP Production Execution and adjacent modules.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between manufacturing operations and SAP functional teams for Production Execution/Production Planning and shop floor stakeholders.
  • Lead business process mapping and ensure alignment with global standards and SAP PE best practices tailored to local Japanese operations.
  • Conduct workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with production, planning, and quality teams.
  • Translate manufacturing needs into clear functional specifications and guide implementation teams.
  • Support system testing, data validation, and cutover activities from a production operations perspective.
  • Contribute to training materials and change management initiatives focused on production teams.
  • Ensure SAP PE processes support compliance, traceability, and reliability within regulated environments, aligned with Japanese pharma and life science standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of PE with modules such as PP, QM, EWM, and MES systems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with SAP, including deep expertise in the PE module and familiarity with PP, QM, WM, EWM, and MES integration points.
  • Proven experience in global or regional SAP implementations, including at least 2 full-cycle SAP PE deployments.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, shop floor control, batch management, and manufacturing execution processes.
  • Advanced configuration skills in SAP PE (e.g., order types, confirmations, control recipes, process instructions, and production versions).
  • Ability to communicate complex SAP concepts in simple, actionable business terms.
  • Knowledge of compliance and validation requirements in GxP (Good x Practice) environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher) and English, both written and verbal.
  • Adaptability to dynamic, fast-paced project environments.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, healthcare, food, or consulting.
