About the Role
Stephenson Equipment, Inc (SEI) is seeking a Service Technician for its Syracuse, NY location. SEI is an industry leader in Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and D.C., providing sales, rentals, parts, and service for construction, cranes, paving, road building, and road maintenance equipment.
Responsibilities
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs using engine diagnostic equipment
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Comply with all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
- Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
- Assemble gear systems, and align frames and gears
- Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Weld or solder broken parts and structural members
- Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent
- Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies using hand tools, jacks, and cranes
- Adjust and maintain industrial machinery using controls and regulating devices
- Effectively communicate and actively participate within a goal-oriented team environment
- Actively participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50lbs with an occasional lift up to 100lbs with assistance of a crane
