About the Role
We are seeking a creative hardware content lead who excels at both building and storytelling. In this role, you will utilize blueprint.am to design and construct hobbyist hardware projects, documenting the entire process through short-form video content. Your work will demonstrate the accessibility of hardware design to a wider audience.
Responsibilities
- Design and build original hobbyist hardware projects using blueprint.am
- Film and edit short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, posts on X) showcasing the build process
- Post consistently across platforms, ideally 1-2 times daily
- Propose project ideas that resonate with the maker and hobbyist community
- Contribute to the creative presentation of blueprint.am
Requirements
- Currently in university or recently graduated, ideally studying engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or a related field, or self-taught with a history of building projects
- Demonstrated experience building hardware projects (class, hackathon, or personal)
- Comfortable on camera and skilled at explaining technical concepts clearly and engagingly
- Proficient in short-form video creation, understanding pacing, hooks, and audience engagement
- Based in Toronto or able to work from Toronto
