About the Role
Altitude Access Solutions Inc. is seeking dedicated, hardworking individuals for part-time Shuttle Driver positions at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR). This role is crucial for ensuring the safe transportation of passengers and delivering excellent customer service in a 24/7 operation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate airport shuttle vehicles to transport passengers between parking facilities and terminal locations
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting passengers with questions, directions, luggage, and accessibility needs
- Adhere to all airport safety regulations, traffic laws, and organizational driving standards
- Maintain adequate fuel levels and ensure the vehicle is full at the end of each shift
- Maintain the cleanliness of the bus interior and exterior
- Monitor passenger/staff counts and maintain accurate logs
- Complete a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) before and after each shift and report any mechanical or safety concerns
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the Airport layout, terminal, traffic patterns, and operational procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and supervisors, reporting delays, incidents, or operational updates
- Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies, following all safety protocols
- Assist during peak traffic periods to maintain efficient workflow and minimize passenger wait times
- Support airport events and special operations by providing additional transportation services
- Secure lost-and-found items, following proper documentation and handoff procedures
- Possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license
- Escalate customer issues to supervisor/manager when necessary
- Report any known accidents and safety hazards to supervisor/manager
- Communicate spills or hazards to the garage office
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned
- Work extended hours or mandatory overtime during weather events and operational emergencies
Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the parking lots and surrounding area
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Physically able to drive the vehicle
- Standing and walking regularly
- Sitting regularly
- Occasionally climbing or balancing
- May be required to occasionally lift and move up to 75 lbs
- Ability to assist passengers with mobility needs, including use of ramps or lifts
