About the Role
Brickeye is seeking a designer to shape experiences across both physical and digital realms, from job site devices to data analysis platforms. This role involves designing hardware enclosures that build trust and developing intuitive user experiences for complex data and real-time alerts, catering to non-technical field users. The position offers a unique opportunity to work across hardware and software design disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design process from discovery and wireframes to production-ready UI.
- Translate complex data and real-time alerts into intuitive, user-friendly experiences for non-technical users.
- Collaborate with engineering to ship designs that are both beautiful and buildable.
- Shape the industrial design of hardware, including enclosures, form factor, materials, and finish.
- Bring an aesthetic point of view to physical products, balancing manufacturability, ruggedness, and visual coherence.
- Partner with hardware engineering early in the process to ensure design intent survives technical constraints.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate design processes and enhance prototyping.
- Build and maintain a cohesive design system across the product suite.
- Interview users, synthesize feedback, and contribute to product development decisions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of product design experience.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong software and industrial design.
- Comfortable working directly with engineers and understanding technical constraints.
- Hands-on experience crafting physical products using tools like 3D printers or CNC machines.
- Fluent with modern design tools (Figma, Claude Design, 3D CAD).
- Passionate about AI-assisted workflows.
- Self-directed, resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity, and continuously learning.
- Strong opinions that can be adapted based on feedback.
- Experience in industrial design or physical product design, discussing form, materials, and manufacturability.
