About the Role

Isaac is seeking a Director, Learning Design & Development to shape and own the end-to-end learning and development strategy for the organization. This is a build role focused on creating a distinctive and impactful learning function.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision for learning and development at Isaac, encompassing training, self-paced content, coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job learning.
  • Enhance the learning and development experience to be a defining aspect of Isaac's culture, attracting and retaining talent.
  • Design an integrated development ecosystem that accelerates growth through on-the-job experiences, formal learning, coaching, mentoring, and talent assessments.
  • Lead the design and build of Isaac’s Leadership Academy, a multi-level program for leadership skill development.
  • Own the technical operational training curriculum from induction through to Principal level, evolving content as business needs change.
  • Define and embed manager capabilities related to development conversations and feedback.
  • Shape leadership capability definitions and metrics to assess system effectiveness.
  • Partner with senior leaders to translate the competency framework into behavioral descriptors and learning experiences.
  • Incorporate external, evidence-based best practices in organizational learning relevant to Isaac's culture.
  • Explore and implement innovative learning approaches, including new technologies and AI.
  • Engage external partners and build internal facilitation capabilities.
  • Lead and develop the L&D team, fostering a high-performing function.
  • Contribute to the People Team leadership group, influencing strategy and supporting overall people initiatives.

Requirements

  • Senior presence, comfortable engaging with senior leadership.
  • Comfortable operating as the senior learning expert or in partnership with peers.
  • Curious and intellectually restless, bringing fresh ideas.
  • Patient with people, impatient with mediocre work.
  • Pragmatic approach, balancing ambitious vision with practical execution.
  • Energy, curiosity, and personality in work approach.

Skills

  • Organizational learning expertise, particularly in professional services.
  • Formal grounding in learning science, instructional design, organizational psychology, or adult development.
  • Experience leading learning and development functions with a focus on design.
  • Track record of designing leadership development programs that demonstrably shift behavior.
  • Experience operating as a peer to senior business leaders.
  • Hands-on experience building competency frameworks, faculty models, and measurement approaches.
  • Practical experience with blended learning approaches.
  • Formed view on AI in development, with practical application experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
