About the Role

Bartenders are responsible for rapidly and efficiently serving patrons, visitors, students, and staff during performances or special events, while championing A.C.T.'s commitment to providing warm, equitable, and inclusive experiences. Bar staff play an integral role in setting a positive and supportive tone within the Audience Services team.

Responsibilities

• Selling beverages and snacks during pre-performance, intermission, and various events.
• Preparing, stocking, and cleaning bar areas before each shift.
• Managing a bank and completing per-shift reporting accurately.
• Managing and accurately communicating inventory usage per shift.
• Providing guests with exceptionally warm, efficient, and equitable experiences.
• Resolving patron/visitor issues using de-escalation practices with warmth and care.
• Aligning with behavioral policies designed to promote an inclusive and diverse culture.
• Undergoing training to understand and demonstrate how to promote an actively anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, anti-transphobic, and anti-ableist culture.
• Raising opportunities for improvement, issues, and ideas for resolution collaboratively.
• Promoting a positive, team-focused culture where issues are resolved transparently and openly.

Requirements

• Demonstrated skill in understanding cultural differences.
• Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with A.C.T. colleagues and stakeholders.
• California RBS Certification.
• Experience in concessions service environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Experience working in a theater, live event venue, audience management, or large-scale events settings.
• Demonstrated customer service experience where de-escalation, empathy, strong verbal and listening skills were exercised.
• Must be able to respond quickly mentally and physically to handle competing requests, complaints, emergencies, and high-pressure situations.
• Must be agile ascending and descending staircases.
• Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs.
• Ability to see well while moving in a dimly lit space.
• Ability to assist others physically in an evacuation scenario.
