About the Role
Nuance Dental Studio is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Dental Assistant to join their growing team in New York, NY. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership position in a modern, patient-focused dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and preventive treatments.
- Lead and mentor dental assistant team members, ensuring consistent clinical standards and best practices.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, operatories, and equipment in compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols.
- Take and process dental X-rays (digital radiography) as directed by the dentist.
- Manage patient flow, scheduling coordination, and operatory turnover efficiency.
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation within dental practice management software.
- Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of dental assisting experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or senior role.
- Dental Assistant certification (CDA) or equivalent state-recognized credential preferred.
- Radiology certification/X-ray license required per New York State regulations.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilization protocols, and OSHA compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
