About the Role

As a Technology leader in the real estate industry, PAUL connects artificial intelligence, IoT hardware, and heat pumps into an intelligent system for CO₂-neutral heat, making existing buildings fit for a climate-neutral future. Your role will involve managing parallel heat pump projects across North Rhine-Westphalia at a fast pace, with technically demanding systems in occupied buildings, and a standard that grows with each project. Your mission is to lead and coordinate construction and project managers in your region to scale these projects on time, economically, and with high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of up to 20 construction and project managers in your region, both technically and disciplinarily.
  • Ensure construction managers are actively leading their construction sites, are always available for information, and identify and solve problems early.
  • Lead clearly, bindingly, and performance-oriented, developing high-performing employees and making consistent decisions when performance or attitude is permanently lacking.
  • Regularly visit construction sites in your region to assess progress, quality, order, and performance.
  • Verify that teams have the necessary tools, equipment, and materials, and can use them safely and correctly.
  • Ensure clear responsibilities, binding deadlines, and effective collaboration of all involved trades on each construction site.
  • Enforce uniform quality and acceptance standards for all projects in your region.
  • Analyze project key figures and derive concrete improvement measures.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors in your region.
  • Independently resolve complex issues and escalate to management only when necessary, in close coordination.
  • Identify growth potential in your region and expand your team accordingly.
  • Establish scalable processes for new projects and locations.

Requirements

  • More than just education or a degree, we value your skills and what you bring. Crucial are your operational leadership experience and your ability to effectively manage complex construction site organizations.
  • Several years of operational experience in managing complex construction sites or a regional construction, service, or assembly organization.
  • A strong understanding of how construction sites with multiple trades, subcontractors, and changing participants actually function.
  • Natural authority, approachability, and the ability to win people over for common goals without losing necessary clarity and consistency.
  • Lead through presence, clear expectations, and consistent follow-up – not exclusively from the office or via digital reporting.
  • Proficient in VOB/B (German construction contract procedures) and experience in managing subcontractors and partner companies.
  • Travel within your region in North Rhine-Westphalia.
  • Very good German language skills, both written and spoken.
