About the Role

The Identification and Distribution Administrator, Foreign supports the Royalties and Distribution team by retrieving, reconciling, and matching distribution files for foreign revenue streams. This role ensures reports and payments are received, tracked, and reconciled, and addresses any missing information. The administrator will identify and match repertoire to usage data within the RR system, create or update incorrect/missing works, and research works and IP information using internal and external resources. The goal is to ensure timely and accurate SOCAN Reproduction Rights distributions to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end processing of foreign distribution files, including retrieving reports and matching.
  • Reconcile files and payments to ensure alignment prior to processing.
  • Research and update works in SGDRS to facilitate distribution.
  • Maintain the income source matrix to identify gaps in collections from sister societies.
  • Liaise and follow up with Foreign Societies and internal stakeholders regarding missing or incomplete payments or files.
  • Create Cue sheets for TV distribution purposes.
  • Respond to foreign-related distribution inquiries and assist with resolving outstanding issues/backlog.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to business procedures and processes related to royalties.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures for processing foreign reports.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience dealing with large amounts of data.
  • Accuracy and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Excellent financial skills.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of existing SOCAN workflow is an asset.
  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.

  • Bilingual (English/French) required.
