About the Role
Launch Math + Science Centers is seeking a motivated Lead STEM Instructor to manage afterschool programs. This 'Player-Coach' role is ideal for an educator or STEM graduate aiming for management experience, overseeing STEM programs and daily operations, including student check-ins, material organization, and staff support.
Responsibilities
- Review daily rosters, set up technology, prepare math assignments, and organize STEM class materials.
- Ensure the center is clean and professional.
- Manage and execute the student check-in/out process.
- Serve as the main point of contact for parents at the door.
- Lead math enrichment and STEM classes for Pre-K to 8th grade students.
- Ensure student entertainment, engagement, and learning.
- Act as the first responder for site needs, such as missing materials or student behavior.
- Escalate complex issues to the Assistant Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or in-progress) in a STEM field or Education.
- 1+ year of experience working with children (tutoring, camp, or classroom).
- Previous experience as a 'Head Counselor' or 'Lead Tutor' is a major plus.
- High energy, extremely punctual, and able to multitask during busy transition periods.
- Comfortable using laptops and tablets and simple database tools to track student progress.
