About the Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in analyzing financial operations, ensuring the reliability of financial information, and driving continuous process improvement within the insurance industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform accounting entries and ensure the complete and accurate recording of transactions in Oracle ERP.
- Reconcile accounts, analyze variances, and ensure their timely resolution.
- Analyze financial results, understand fluctuations, and document the underlying causes.
- Participate in the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of internal controls.
- Collaborate closely with business partners, including operations, actuarial, and corporate teams.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes to optimize the quality, efficiency, and reliability of financial information.
- Prepare documentation required for audits and regulatory requests.
- Play an active role in understanding business issues and supporting decision-making and the evolution of financial practices.
Requirements
- Rigor and attention to detail in the analysis and processing of financial information.
- Curiosity, analytical mindset, and ability to understand financial variances.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights.
- Autonomy, organization, and sound professional judgment in a fast-evolving environment.
- 5 years of relevant experience in audit or financial accounting.
- CPA designation or currently pursuing one.
- Comfortable with financial analysis, account reconciliations, and identifying the root causes of variances.
- Knowledge of IFRS standards.
- Experience with Oracle ERP or another ERP system.
- Experience in the insurance industry or financial services.
- Advanced level of English and French proficiency.
