About the Role
As a Strategy Senior Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and investors, leading complex commercial due diligence and strategy engagements. You will be accountable for engagement delivery, quality, and commercial outcomes, directing teams, guiding analytical narratives, and translating insights into investment theses and value-creation strategies. You will also act as a senior point of contact for C-suite executives, boards, and investors, driving business growth through client relationships, origination, and thought leadership, while mentoring junior talent.
Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of complex buy- and sell-side commercial due diligence and strategy engagements, with full accountability for approach, quality, risk, and commercial performance.
- Lead and develop high-performing teams, coaching Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates, and driving performance management and capability uplift.
- Shape the analytical framework and hypotheses for engagements, guiding teams on market sizing, customer and competitor analysis, and value driver assessments.
- Direct and quality-assure financial and operational models, and own the investment narrative, synthesizing complex findings into compelling theses, red flags, and recommendations.
- Act as the senior client relationship lead, managing executive-level relationships, presenting to C-suite, boards, and investors, and navigating challenge and negotiation.
- Drive business development and origination, leading proposals and pitches, cultivating client and intermediary relationships, and converting opportunities into engagements.
- Manage engagement economics end-to-end, including budgeting, resourcing, WIP, billing, recoverability, and profitability.
- Lead post-deal value creation and 100-day planning, and orchestrate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated advice.
- Champion practice growth and thought leadership, developing sector expertise, enhancing tools and methodologies, and contributing to the strategic direction, recruitment, and culture of the practice.
Requirements
- Experience in commercial due diligence or strategy consulting with strong analytical and research capabilities.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Comfort with data tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx) is a plus.
- Ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop hypotheses, and quantify market and customer insights.
- Clear, compelling communication skills, including sharp report writing and confident presentation to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborative and organised, with the ability to manage workstreams and deadlines in multi-disciplinary teams.
