About the Role
Catskill Veterinary Services is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Surgeon to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to practice high-level surgery in a private practice setting with a guaranteed caseload and state-of-the-art facilities, including a new hospital opening in 2026. The practice is veterinarian-founded and owned, prioritizing medical best practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-level surgery, including complex orthopedics (TPLO, fractures), soft tissue, and oncologic surgery.
- Provide surgical referral services for a network of ER and GP hubs.
- Manage cases with continuity of care, including post-operative and long-term recovery.
- Collaborate with referring General Practice and Emergency veterinarians.
- Focus on procedures while the support team handles prep, recovery, and discharge instructions.
Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree.
- Board Certification (DACVS) or Board Eligible (active residency completion).
- Current NYS License or ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency in both orthopedic and soft tissue procedures.
- A collaborative approach to case management with referring vets.
